A Head Start

The Beach District got the football weekend started a day early with a full slate of games on Thursday night. I got my first chance this year to watch E.J. Manuel the nationally rated quarterback from Bayside. He did not disappoint.
The Marlins with their high powered passing offense were hosting Kellam who makes a habit of running all over their opponents.

Manuel had been off to a slow start in his first three games, but on a night with a steady drizzle he found the range against the Knights. Manuel threw for three touchdowns and 208 yards passing. Marques Thomas was his favorite target with 160 yards receiving. The Marlins beat the previously unbeaten Knights 26-9.
Green Run continues to surprise. We had our cameras there for the first half of the game with Princess Anne. Rahmel Glover was all over our hilites with a touchdown run, a touchdown pass and a touchdown on an interception return. The Stallions remain undefeated.
Elsewhere at the beach Landstown broke a late game tie with a fourth quarter touchdown for the win. Tallwood in a close one beat Cox 20-18.
In the Peninsula District Hampton got their second scare of the season. They also allowed their first points of the year, but still held off Denbigh 14-13.
