Grassfield Football: Starting From Scratch

There aren't any starter kit instructions that go with building a high school football program from its infancy. That's the task ahead for Grassfield High head coach, Martin Asprey. The Grizzlies opened up with a 28-0 loss to Nansemond River. That's the bad. The good; they were only trailing 7-0 going into the 4th. Still, many don't think the Grizzlies won't be much of a factor in the Southeastern District, but don't tell Asprey that.

"We're trying to put on a big foot print", he says of his team wanting to build a strong legacy. They take on Deep Creek Friday at home in which both sides have plenty in common. When Grassfield was opened it wound up taking a good portion of the student body (and athletes) from Deep Creek. Asprey played for the Hornets and his assistant, Jaime Fraser is a former assistant to Hornets head coach, David Cox.

Hello Grassfield Highschool,

This messege is for Coach Asprey, I played for him when he coached at Oscar Smith High, and was wondering if he needed some help on his coaching staff for the next season, I loved Coach Asprey as a coach, and would love to work beside him on the sideline.
