Warrior commitment
Nansemond River High School is sending their standout basketball star to Old Dominion University. Nick Wright has given his verbal commitment to ODU for 2008.
Here are the numbers. Wright is 6'7", 205 lbs. Last year he averaged 13 points and 14 rebounds a game. Add 6 blocks a game to that and you have a player who is a force in the paint.
Wright's high school coach Ed Young tells me, Wright is a quality player headed to a quality school. He likes the idea of being able to play at "The Ted" in front of his local fans.
Wright's Warriors went 25-3 last year and made it to the state quarterfinals. He becomes the fourth local player to commit to ODU in the last 18 months.
