Friday Wrap 10/5

We've got quite a streak going in our Game of the Week selections. Seems no matter what great matchup we choose in the last three weeks and they've turned into lopsided blowouts.
Lake Taylor made sure this Friday was the same script. They've lost only one district game in the last 17. Maury beat them last year. We weren't about to have a replay.

The Titans scored 4 of the first 7 times they put the ball on the line of scrimmage. Both teams were undefeated in district play. Lake Taylor stays that way with a 62-0 romp.
We had several great matchups on Friday night and in this section I detail what happened on all the games where we sent our cameras. You can catch extended hilites in the video section of the HSgametime homepage.
Most likely the Southeastern District championship was on the line at Western Branch. The Bruins scored the first time they touched the ball against Oscar Smith. However, Philip Sims connected on three touchdowns. Two of the scores went to Kerry Boykins who will be playing at Maryland next year. Check out the second touchdown, it's a sensational catch. Tigers win 28-7.
Hampton's defense came up huge again. The Crabbers have played 6 games and have tossed 5 shutouts. Heritage came in as a threat with just one loss. Tron Martinez was up to the usual. He carried 36 times for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Crabbbers won 24-0.
Ocean Lakes and Kellam came in with identical 4-1 records. They swapped scores all night long. Another great catch, this time by Justin Hunter set up the game winning score for the Dolphins. Marques Davis to T.J. Cowart for the win with just 21 seconds to go in the game.
Green Run has been the surprise team in the area. But people would say they haven't been tested. They had more than a pop quiz against Bayside. The Marlins and Stallions took it to overtime. Green Run is still undefeated after winning 33-31.
We were at the first half of the Warwick and Menchville game. Too bad, all the offense was in the second. But you can still check out the Raiders defense. They were stout. Warwick won the game 30-0.
