Friday Wrap Week #8

Am starting to think you're team may not want to be included as part of our game of the week. There's a 50/50 chance you'll get blown out. It seems to happen every week. This time Green Run poured it on against Ocean Lakes 62-18.

So the Stallions are now a perfect 8-0. This is the same team that hasn't had a winning season since the 90's. They were 1-9 last year. With a schedule that is backloaded with the toughest teams at the end of the season, we were wondering just how good they were. Obviously, real good. Ocean Lakes is a solid team, but in the second half the Stallions broke it wide open.
This blog is about all the games we shot and you can catch in the video section of the home page (to your right). The other big showdown on Friday night was Great Bridge at Western Branch. We had our cameras there in the first half when the Southside's most prolific passer Casey Turner threw his first touchdown. He tossed 5 more in the second half. Still, his 520 yards passing was not enough. The Bruins had the running game going. As usual Hykeem Brodie lead the way. Western Branch won in a shootout 42-40.
Back at the Beach, we were there for the second half of the Bayside win over Landstown. The Eagles have been slowed by injuries. The Marlins have one of the best quarterbacks in the country. E.J. Manuel is known as a dropback passer. In our hilites you'll notice that he can run the ball too. Bayside 27-14.
We also had Princess Anne playing at Cox. The Falcons won for the third time this year. Brandon Law got a little airtime on Channel 13 with his nice touchdown run.
Lake Taylor is still unbeaten. We learned this week how Boogie McCray got his nickname. He loved to dance when he was a wee little kid. You can check out his moves. The Titans beat Norcom 47-12.
On the Peninsula, don't go looking for much offense in the Woodside and Warwick game. The Raiders keep their playoff hopes alive with a 10-8 win.
Poquoson's hopes of making the postseason took a big hit on Friday night. Tabb's Cory Legister had the usual rushing numbers. Teammate Chris Parham makes our hilites with a long td. The Tigers won easily 42-14.
