WHALEY TO GOPHER COUNTRY
He is one of the biggest catches of this recruiting season and it looks like Salem High School's Kevin Whaley is out to mark his own path. It's not too often players from here head to Minnesota for their college football career.
That said, Whaley is going to be a Golden Gopher as he has given his verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota. Whaley is the all-time rushing leader in South Hampton Roads with a total of 6,301 yards. He is 5-11, 175 pounds.
Whaley had plenty of colleges to choose from. He chose Minnesota from a narrowed down list of Michigan State, West Virginia and Connecticut.
