NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
High school seniors and college coaches are breathing a little easier today. No more recruiting wars, as it was national signing day. As usual Hampton Roads is supplying the country with some very talented football stars.
You can catch interviews with some of the biggest recruits in the video section of HS Gametime. EJ Manuel was the most sought after star from the area. The Bayside QB is headed to Florida State.
Typically, Virginia Tech struck gold in Hampton Roads. There are 8 future stars headed to Blacksburg. That includes: Dyrell Roberts (Smithfield), Xavier Boyce (Landstown), Marcus Davis (Ocean Lakes), Randall Dunn (Ocean Lakes), Lyndell Gibson (Salem), Tony Gregory (First Colonial), Joe Jones(Green Run) and Vinston Painter (Maury).
The University of Virginia landed two players from southside. Michael Price (Great Bridge) and Klinton Ruff (Norview) will be playing in Charlottesville next fall.
Old Dominion signed up 8 area players in their first recruiting class.
Norfolk State will be welcoming 7 local players to campus next semester.
