LADY CANES CHAMPIONS !
For the first time in the school's history, Heritage High School can be called state champions in girls basketball. The Lady Canes won in a rout over Forest Park 50-29.
Heritage has talent throughout the lineup, but Sonia Johnson and Bonae Holston were the stars in the final. Johnson was the leading scorer with 19 points. Holston had 15 points and 16 rebounds. The Lady Canes jumped out to a 10-0 lead and then saw Forest Park close within one. Heritage stretched their lead to 32-22 when they scored 16 points in a row to close the deal. They finish the season 30-2.
