Phoebus' Ward commits to Liberty

Yet another key ingredient to the successful football program at Phoebus has made a decision on the college of his choice as he gets ready for his senior season for the Phantoms.

Phantoms tight end Demetrius Ward will be playing his college football at Liberty University starting in 2009. Ward becomes the fifth Phantom to make his commitment to a college program.
At 6-3 and 215 pounds, Ward was a second team All Peninsula District player at tight end last season after catching seven passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Ward also saw playing time at defensive end last season.
Ward joins linebacker LoVante Battle (UVA), quarterback Tajh Boyd, running back Shawne Alston and lineman Dominik Davenport (West Virginia), who have made early college commitments.
