Group AA state golf results

A pair of Bay Rivers schools did well as the Group AA state golf tournament wrapped up Tuesday in Crozet.

Jamestown placed third in the overall standings as they shot 309 as a team in Tuesday's final day of competition to finish with a final tally of 610, good enough for third spot in states. The top Eagle golfer was Seth Nooe who finished with an overall score of 150.
Tabb finished fifth overall with an final round score of 308 and 625 overall. The top Tiger was Michael Barber at 147, the top overall area golfer in Region 1.
Blacksburg captured the state title with an overall count of 585, while Mikey Moyers from William Monroe successfully defended his state title, thanks to a round of 65 Monday and 62 Tuesday, winning the individual medal by a whopping 18 shots at 15 under par, a VHSL state golf record.
