Division 5 and Division 6 pairings.....as of now
The Division 6 football pairings are set, the Division 5 pairings are still up in the air, if you will, as we will have to wait one more day to find out who some schools will play in the high school second season.
Here are the Division 6 first round matchups for Friday, November 7::
-#8 seed Salem (5-5) at #1 seed Ocean Lakes (10-0)
-#7 seed Woodside (6-4) at #2 seed Oscar Smith (10-0)
-#6 seed Bethel (7-3) at #3 seed Western Branch (8-2)
-#5 seed Kellam (7-3) at #4 seed Cox (7-3)
**All games start at 730pm**
Here are the Division 5 first round matchups for Friday, November 7::
-#8 seed Warwick (6-4) vs. #1 seed Phoebus (10-0) @ Darling Stadium
(or) at #2 seed Lake Taylor (10-0)
-#7 seed Churchland (6-4) at #2 seed Lake Taylor or #1 seed Phoebus at Darling Stadium
-#6 seed Grassfield (7-3) at #3 seed Green Run (9-1)
-#5 seed Indian River (7-3) vs. #4 seed Hampton (9-1) @ Todd Stadium

Phoebus' 77-0 rout of Denbigh on Saturday afternoon has left the Phantoms in a virtual tie for top spot in the D5 power ratings. The Virginia High School League (VHSL) will release the final ratings on Sunday afternoon, which will make the D5 pairings official.
