High school pep rallies can be the best part of your Fridays. You get to wear your cheerleader uniform and be the center of attention as you walk the school’s hallways. But how will you keep the attention of your school fans during the big pep rally? We want to see some of your most fun and favorite pep rally pics.

Here are some ideas for getting everyone involved and spreading your school team spirit.

1) You must involve the crowd. This means including various groups of your school: the Spanish club, the student council, the FFA, the debate team, volleyball team, your school choir group and even the school faculty. Give each group an opportunity to participate (on the main floor) at the spirit rallies.

2) Have a theme for each pep rally. Mention the theme during the morning announcements early in the week to give the students enough time to plan for the pep rally. And make sure to promote the theme throughout the week. You can do this by handing out flyers or placing signs throughout the school.

3) Have spirit contests between the various groups. Give prizes to the group with the best cheer or to the group with the best skit. Reward them by allowing the winning group to sit in a reserved spot at that night’s game wearing their1st place ribbon.

4) Create a school dance or chant that everybody knows and performs at every school pep rally and at the weekend football games.

5) And finally, have your school photo journalism department send in fun photos of your pep rally in action. I’ll be sure to let you know which one is my favorite.
