Ira Cronin | Wild ride on week two

Friday's high school games were off the charts! Yes, Independence rolled in their opener, Butler cruised over North Meck, but what a game we had in South Carolina as Country Day knocked off Northwestern in quadruple overtime!

The great part of Friday night’s for me is that while I can’t go to all the games myself, I have a front row seat for HS GameTime by virtue of the fact that I co-host the show with Greg Bailey.

I was very impressed talking briefly with Charlotte Catholic quarterback Christian Culicerto after their win over Myers Park. He was very sharp and relaxed during the interview, and gave very thoughtful and intelligent answers to our questions. They say it makes a smart quarterback to make the wing-t offense click, and it looks like the Cougars are on their way and after meeting Christian I can see why.

As big as week two felt, week three promises to be bigger and bolder! I can’t wait!
