It's been a topic all year on the HS Gametime show - Tommy Knotts' motivational tactics for the Patriots. Every last one of them worked. Indy is more than talented and explosive, they're focused. And well coached. They proved all of it to anyone who had any doubts by taking complete command in the 2nd half of the win over Butler.

I almost hate to admit this in writing, but Langston Wertz, Jr. was right all along (there you go, Langston) after the first week of the season. It's the Patriots first; then its everybody else in the state of North Carolina. Indy really is that good.

It's about time people give Anthony Carrothers, Harold Blythe and company their due. I've heard way too much about how they compare to past stars at Indy. These players are great in their own right. They lead an offense that's great. And soon they can take their place among the all timers in the area with another state title.

I appreciate how well both teams handled themselves after an emotional game. First class, with respect for their opponent. That's a great tribute to both coaches and everyone who leads the young people at their schools. I've seen too many games like this one get out of hand.

Christian LeMay looks every bit like the future of football in this area. Battling back from early mistakes when it would have been easy to fold. Not many young players would face tough questions from the media afterwards, but Christian did. He promised to get better and that's a scary thought for everyone in Charlotte.
