Alvin Jackets are state bound
The Jackets had a chance for both their baseball and softball teams to make it to state, but only one team could pull it off. The Lady Yellow Jackets made it happen, sweeping Brazoswood in two games, 7-1 & 1-0, to send them to state.
Amber Anderson pitched both games and was amazing off the mound allowing only 1 run in game one, and shutting out B-Wood in the second game. Anderson pitched in all three of their games against Bellaire in the semis winning two out of the three games.
Alvin has a real chance to do it big in the state playoffs, especially after their play through out the regional playoffs. The swarming Jacket defense doesn't allow many runners to get on, covering almost the entire field.
The Jacket D is led by their pitcher Anderson and their shortstop Alexis Joseph.
Offensively the Jackets have been off an on, scoring seven runs in game one, but only one in game two, but they definately have the ability to bat around on any team.
The tournament starts this weekend and runs from the 29th -31st
