Playoffs couldn't get any better: Playoff wrap

This has to be some of the best playoff action in a long time. The second round of the playoffs brought some real excitement and a few shockers.

Lets start with Hightower vs. North Shore, our game of the week.
This was a rematch from last years' playoffs, North Shore crushed Hightowers' hopes, but the Hurricanes turned the tables on the Mustangs.
With about a minute left North Shore has the Lead 21-20, after Hightower missed an extra point. The Mustangs had to punt from their own end zone. The punter, who had been blocked on his first attempt of the game, gets a horrible kick that only goes 9 yards, putting Hightower on the 12 yardline.
Who better AJ Highsmith to lead your team in for the final score with less than a minute left, with the game on the line. A good run by London Hamilton set up an AJ Highsmith 1 yard QB dive with 33 seconds left to take the lead. After the successful two point conversion, Hightower took the 28-21 victory.

Pearland vs. Clear Lake
Pearland trailed Clear Lake for most of the game, but the Oilers made a comeback, tying it up and forcing overtime. After Pearland was unsuccessful offensively, Clear Lake lined up for the game winning field goal. * (Keep in mind that Clear Lake's kicker Dustin Hopkins is one of the best in the nation)
A bad snap and poor handling on the attempted field goal, the ball went loose, only to be scooped up by Pearland's defensive back, who takes it 65 yards for the game winning touchdown.
Pearland wins in a 34-28 thriller.

The Woodlands vs. Round Rock Stony Point
In Round Rock Stadium our first shocker happened. The Woodlands, who has been highly ranked all season ran into problems in Round Rock. Their high powered offense struggled the entire game getting only seven points in their 21-7 loss.

Cy Woods vs. Klein Forest
The Wildcats of Cy Woods are in their first season of varsity play and proving that they're the "Real Deal." Cy Woods quarterback Lucas Devilliers ran the show Friday night racking up over 300 yards of total offense and 2 touchdowns. The Wildcats beat Klein Forest 22-15.

Klein Oak vs. Cy Creek
Cy Creek's Cinderella story came to an end Saturday night at the Berry Center, getting crushed by Klein Oak. Ossam "The Bomb" Cook, on the first play from scrimmage, took the hand off 71 yards torching the Cougar defense for a touchdown, helping lead the Panthers to a 49-21 second round win.
