yes folks, Dayton is just that good, it was a huge day for several players. AJ Dugat had a big day with two touchdowns and two interceptions plus a whole bunch of other great plays including catches. Ford Smesny was big again, Charles Gregory was great at quarterback and a ton of others. coach Stewart had a great game plan on offense and defense, as did the entire staff.
Next up for Dayton is Waller, that is a must see for anyone wh
This one is done. Iw ill post a short recap.
The backup QB is in.
North Shore at half is up 31, Cy Fair 17
Dayton 35-0
North Shore 31-14 over Cy FAir
Waller 21, Lumberton 0
all at halftime
and touchdwon pass to Dugat, what did I say about run, run, run, run, pass
the QB throws the ball away to get away from the rush and AJ Dugat gets another pick. He has been huge tonight.
seems like a pattern is run, run, run, run, defense pushes into the box, PASS, TD
Dayton has lined up three times and ran the ball down the middle with a lot of success. John Gable is having a great game. Interesting formation, single back, no tight ends, four receivers to spread the field.
All Dayton all the time in this one, still Livingston is in the game.
Dugat is one of our state's top 15 juniors because he can do so many things, running back, receiver and a great safety. The Livingston QB floated another one and he took it to the house by breaking several takcles. Looks like a flag on the play though. Dayton will have the ball around the 3 seconds left ill half
I will post updates on other games as I get them. Livingston has the ball with 40 seconds left, Dayton did not score
The quarterback got a bad snapped and made a mistake by chunking the ball in the end zone, interception by Dayton.
Livingston is driving and they had a touchdown but Brandon Prescott dropped the pass. Livingston needs something before halftime
Dayton was able to start off with an impressive drive to score by punching the ball in from the one. Heavy, heavy traffic out there and this place is packed, both schools brought everyone, the parking lots are full
The cardiac kids strike again: Clements High School's team has been playing an enchanted season this year. They keep having to make big comebacks to win games, and they do it every week. This week they beat West Brook in spectacular fashion. Not to leave anyone out but players like Walker Dille, Matt Herzinger, Derek Carr, Chris Lenoir and many others keep coming up with huge plays at clutch moments. It is like they play, "it is your turn
Andrew Luck vs Kolby Gray, yes this will be a battle of quarterbacks and there should be plenty of offense in this one. Look for a very very high scoring game with the high wind being the X factor in this game.
Game is 8 minutes from starting as it is raining fairly hard and there is not much of a crowd. Rain means running the ball, so this shoudl favor West Brook. This is Alan Zepeda with Texasprepinsider.com blogging for Hsgametime.com here at Galena Park as the playoff continue.
Great games on both sides, the quarterback battle was fun to watch, but in the end Concordia executed when they needed and made fewer mistakes
This has been Alan Zepeda with texasprepinsider.com blogging here on HSGAMETIME.COM signing off.
Still 28-16, Concordia is getting ready to punt to Second Baptist. Still time left but SB needs to do something quickly or they will be in trouble
nothing fancy, but running the ball, the QB keeps throwing off his back foot but makes plays. The team does turn the ball over too much though, 32 seconds left in the third quarter, Second Baptist 16, Tomball Concordia 28
another big run for the senior back, Concordia is leading 28-9
as time runs out the kicker hits the upright and the ball goes in.
They fumble at the four, they keep killing good drives with fumbles. 7:45 left in the second
He likes to throw off his back foot but he has a lot of arm and gets the ball there. Coach Sneed will work on that in the off-season but he is looking real good. He has college size and a college sized arm. He shows nice speed at times and can float the ball when needed.
14-6 lead, good battle tonight for TAPPS action. yes it is not the talent you would see in the cy Fair vs Lamar game but some good football none the less
Defense dropped back and the QB saw a hold and ran 20 yards for a TD. He showed some speed
seems to be a bad case of dropsies on both teams today. Both QB's are young and inexperienced, but they both have talent. Connor Wood of SB just made a nice pass across the middle.
The quarterback keeps throwing off his back foot but keeps completing passes, he is only a sophomore but he has a BRett Favre whip the pass style. They are chipping away at the defense with a ball control passing game, spread the field and take what they give.
Single back offense with double wide receivers. SB has a quarterback that Coach Sneed said "has more tools than any other quarterback I have had, and he is only a sophomore.
Second Baptist won this one by a touchdown earlier in the year. you have a pair of very good underclassmen quarterbacks going at it tonight. Stay tuned for some TAPPS action tonight
Change of venue for tonight, going to do the TAPPS playoff game instead here at Rhodes Stadium
Final is Waller 28- Yates 14
Check that, what they can't afford is a big play and then get a taunting penalty, first down Waller. This is about over
Phillips fumbles after Willie Williams puts a hurt on him. Yates' defense is jacked up.
Trahan fumbles the snap, Waller recovers. Three times the sophomore has dropped the ball.
4th and 6 on the 16 for Waller, 10 minutes left, Waller going to kick the field goal and....no good
Yates can't do anything with the ball, Waller has it with 6:30 left and are driving. Yates can't afford anymore first downs or this one is ove
SECOND HALF HAS STARTED
not much to say about this, they are both playing ground control ball with little results. yates is looking stronger than the first half. Quinton Powell is starting to have a big game
first series by Yates ended up with zero yards as the Waller defense shut them down.
Waller starts at the 45 yard line, question is can Waller handle Yates' speed, and the answer is yes a 55 Yard td run by Stephen Williams on the end around
Yates has teh ball again and Waller is stuffing them again. Trahan had a solid run but fell short of the first down. Waller is using the quickness of the DL to outman the large Yates OL.

Some upsets in the first round of the playoffs. I think the biggest one was that Humble's defense figured out how to stop the passing game and stuffed Deer Park. The Deer had one of the area's top receivers so this was huge.
Another slight upset was Sharpstown losing to Furr, but with quarterback Sam Carter out most of t
Stumbling at the finish line: Stratford, El Campo and Dickinson all lost in the last week, so were they over rated? No, their playoff spot was set so why risk an injury in a meaningless game.
Westfield is surging as is Dayton: Both are teams we had highly ranked early on but stumbled early on because of injuries (Dayton losing QB Cody Green) and a tragic death (Herman Mitchell being killed in the pre-season). However both teams hav
