Lacrosse, don't knock it 'til you've watched it.

I recently went out to get some highlights from two local boys and girls lacrosse games. I will be the first to admit that I know little to nothing about the sport and was never really interested in finding out. But after spending about an hour and a half watching the skill and concentration and toughness of these players I have a new found respect for the game of lacrosse.
It takes a "tough as nails" player to crash the net and get smac

St. X-Trinity Game Moved Again

I just got off the phone with St. Xavier athletic director Alan Donhoff and he tells me the St. X-Trinity football game will now be played Saturday October 3rd at 6:00. It will still be played at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. This is the second time the game has been moved. It was originally scheduled to be played October 2nd but UofL has a home football game that night. it was then pushed back to Sunday October 4th but another conflict arose.

Spring is here!

Being a basketball nut it makes me a little sad that the season has come to an end. But with the end of one season a new one begins. It's time for spring sports.
There's nothing better than getting outside on a nice sunny day like the ones we will be seeing soon and watching a good game of baseball or softball, or heading to your local track to watch all of the athletes try to outrun the others.

L.I.T. is basketball heaven!

This week I have had the opportunity to check out the Louisville Invitational Tournament out at Bellarmine.

As a basketball fan, that is the place to be. Four games a day through the first two three days, then an off-day, and right back into it on the weekend including the eventual winner having to win two games on Championship Saturday.
It is without a doubt basketball heaven.

So if you get a chance to get out to Bella

It's hoops time!

As Trinity walked off the Papa John's Field holding their 19th State Football Title it marked the end of the high school football season. As sad as I am to see football wrap up, I'm just that much more excited to see the start of basketball season.
Basketball is the pep band playing the fight song so loud the opposing team can't concentrate on warm-ups. It's the student sections chanting back and forth to each other throughout the game.

Rocks Pick Up 19th State Title

The Trinity Shamrocks made quick work of Simon Kenton to win their 19th state title 48-0. The Rocks jumped on the Pioneers early and often racking up 41 first half points. Starting quarterback Cameron Smyth was a perfect 12-12 for 232 yards and three touchdown passes. He also had a touchdown run. Senior running back Tim Phillips did major damage as well rushing for 131 yards and three scores. The Pioneers could only muster 150 yards for the ga
