Crazy Practice Times

With extreme heat this time of year, high school football coaches have to get creative with when they practice. That means some teams will start really EARLY or really LATE to avoid the high heat index. Christian Academy is holding some of their practices at 6 am! And at least two teams are taking part in their own version of midnight madness. PRP and Fairdale will both practice at midnight this week. I'm sure the guys don't love getting up that early or practicing at midnight, but it sure beats dealing with the heat. You would think an early evening practice might be ok. But I just talked to Trinity's Bob Beatty. His team is scheduled to practice at 5:30 pm, but if the heat index is too high, they'll just have to just sit and wait until it drops.
