Mercy eyes state volleyball crown
I've just returned from Mercy Academy's final practice of the season. The atmosphere was very laid back, but there was something in the air that let you know they were focused. They need to be since they begin the State tournament on Friday.
Coach Todd Garvey's club has only lost 1 game all year long, so it would be very easy for them to just go through the motion's and expect that they will win. But, the one line I kept hearing was "one game at a time."
Coach Garvey has the Jaguars team ready to go. Madison Harvey is expected to be back from an achilles injury. Add her to a team that includes top players such as Paige Wessel, Casey Garvey, Kelsey Anderson, and Jewell Dobson, this team becomes scary.
All of the action will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Bellarmine University. Mercy plays Green County at 8 p.m.
I will be there and I hope you will be as well.
