Good football..bad behavior at Fairdale

Fairdale and Marion County played one of the more competitive playoff games in the area Friday night. Marion County jumped ahead by two touchdowns, but Fairdale came back to tie the game at 21 in the 4th quarter. Bulldogs receiver Quintrell Morris had a great game. 2 touchdown catches and a kickoff return for another score. But Marion County buckled down in the final 10 minutes with two touchdowns and they got the big road win 35-21.

As for the bad behavior...
Late in the game, with the game slipping away, 2 or 3 grown men stood on the Fairdale sideline yelling words of encouragement toward the Fairdale players. But these men were also directing foul insults at the Fairdale coaching staff. It definitely crossed the line. I was surprised these men were not escorted out. I was told one of the men was a parent of one of the players and even his son was embarrassed at his father's behavior.

Also, I saw another Fairdale fan smoking in the stands. Did I miss something, or is smoking in a public venue not permitted. This guy was puffing away without a care in the world. I also saw several high school age children smoking in plain sight. Where was the supervision? Where was the authority? Fairdale's season is over, but they might want to work on things off the field for next season.
