HSGametime Playoff Preview

The long journey finally leads every team in the state of Kentucky to Friday night, when the playoffs for all 6 classes begins. Here are some teams from the city of Louisville to keep an eye out for:

St. Xavier: Duh! They have dominated anyone put in front of them, including Trinity. They have what you need, a solid QB, stud running back, and a stout defense. I did not see a team hit any harder than the Tigers D does.

Central: The defending 3A champs lost a few games this year, but take a look at who they lost to: St.X, Manual, and Highlands. Those 3 teams could be 3 of the 5 best teams in the state overall. I think that murder's row schedule will benefit the Yellowjackets coming into the playoffs. Their defense has been there all year, its all about scoring points for Central. If they put up some points, look for them to repeat.

Seneca: My darkhorse in 6A. Why? They are only 5-5, you might say. Because they have scored the 3rd most points of any team in 6A. I doubt the Redhawks have a chance to win the title, but I think they will give any team a run. They have athletes at running back, wide receiver, and quarterback.

Valley: They run the ball extremely well, and have some athletes on the defense. When they face some of the top teams in 4A, they have to hope to control the clock and shorten the game. I think they can.

It should be a wild ride, especially for some teams here in Louisville. One last thing: never forget about Trinity, despite the loss to St.X earlier this year, they are getting healthier and seem to have things really clicking on offense. Dont be suprised if they win a 4th straight title.
