WEEKLY PICKS
OK, now's the time to give you a little background into your dear writer, Mr. Handwerger. Beginning today and continuing every Thursday throughout the season, I'll choose 10 random games to pick. ...
For now, I can't give any explanations as to my choosing. That will come later in the season.
Why you ask? Good question.
I'm not from around these parts. I still can't tell you where half the schools are. But I'm learning. And I'm trying to learn quickly.
I come from Alabama, where for the past three years, I've covered Auburn University sports for a newspaper. No, I don't care for Auburn, though I did make some good friends there.
What I do care about is making this Web site the best it can be, so that means I want you, the reader, to be involved.
Along with my picks, I want to see your picks. So, email me (bhandwerger@wwltv.com) or leave them in the comment section. I'll keep a running tally throughout the year to see who did the best, and, of course, who beat yours truly.
Without further ado, away we go:
Shaw 17, Rummel 7
Destrehan 31, Karr 7
Curtis 21, Mandeville 17
Jesuit 33, Reed 0
McDonogh35 20, Hahnville 6
Salmen 28, Northshore 13
Ehret 24, St. Paul's 14
St. James 28, West St. John 10
Slidell 21, Holy Cross 14
Cox 20, St. Augustine 17

What the heck you are picking teams for????
To anonymous, I'm not picking "teams" per se, but picking the teams I think will win each week. You can, too. And we'll keep a tally each week and see who is better at this than me.
Yo Brad:
I think it would be cool if you added a little blurb about each game.
Like why you see the score playing out the way you do.
You are doing a good job.
Thanks
Are You Sure ?
Bob, I think I know where your confusion comes in. Of course I'm picking teams. But I'm not doing it because these are the teams I love and cherish and want to win. They're the teams I think will win. Obviously, I didn't do such a good job of it this past week.
