Gentleman J.T.

Everyone knows of J.T. Curtis' reputation as a winning coach, but one thing I've always admired is Coach Curtis' gentlemanly manner after a loss.
Granted, you don't often see him in that position. I was perusing a prep football forum Friday night when someone said they couldn't wait to see J.T.'s response after the loss to St. James. (more...)
I thought to myself and commented to co-workers that J.T. would get on his show and praise St. James and that he would offer no excuses. He never has. After tough losses in the past to teams like Broadmoor and Salmen he was always quick and direct in addressing the losses on his show and never did he whine or complain about a loss, even on one occasion when there were some controversial calls that went against his team.
A few other notes on Curtis. I've had a hard time finding this out, but it seems that it has been over 30 years since it hasn't won or shared a district title.
Secondly, I don't remember the last time Curtis lost three times in a year – which would happen if they don't win the state championship.
Thirdly, I wouldn't wager any money you really need on Curtis not winning another state title come mid December.
