Mount Carmel def Chappelle 3-0: The Cubs (24-1, 5-0 District 8, Division I) won 25-13, 25-7, 25-20 to maintain their lead in the district. Captain Caitlin Clarke led Mount Carmel with 15 kills, Emily Pepperman added 20 digs, Kaylynn Genemaras had 15 assists and Ashley Poolson recorded three aces.

For Chappelle, Fallon Delanay had 11 digs, Lisa Kanecht had 13 assists, Hillary Hammant had six kills and Kortney Sorenson recorded an ace.

"It is definitely comforting (getting to 5-0), especially because Chappelle, Chalmette and Dominican are all two games down," Mount Carmel head coach April Hagadone said.

Mount Carmel plays at Chalmette on Tuesday, with the varsity slated to start at 4:30 p.m.
