VOLLEYBALL REGIONALS SET

The regionals for the state volleyball tournament are set. Beginning Wednesday, you can see all the volleyball you can possibly want by going to Kenner's Pontchartrain Center.

There are some intriguing matchups that involve local teams. In Division I, St. Scholastica will look to continue its tear this season against fellow northshore school Fontainebleau.

(Match times for local teams)

In all, eight teams are alive in the largest division for a state championship, giving the area a good chance percentage-wise at picking up a win. Mount Carmel, of coures, is the odds-on favorite.

In Division II, four teams have a shot at playing for the championship. But they don't start regionals until Thursday.

Division III, however, presents the biggest match for local fans. Local and state powers Ben Franklin and Sacred Heart face each other for a spot in the quarterfinals. One good team is going to go home early. That one is at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
