Sorry for the delay in posting things, folks. It's a slow time of year, which means we need more from y'all. Write a story about a player. Give us some Holiday Tournament game summaries. Be the one who gets the information out.
I'll be periodically posting stuff. Bear with me.
Hope you all had a wonderful day Tuesday on Christmas.
I'm putting out an APB (that's all points bulletin) for basketball scores, both boys and girls.
Each night, we're looking for results from area basketball games to put up on the site. That way you can come to hsgametime.com and find out how your favorite school did.
Please call 504-529-6392 or 504-529-6290. The more you call, the more you know.
We're not getting rid of football just yet here on the blog. Got some housecleaning - or, in this case, notebook cleaning - to do.

Sorry for the delay in my 5A finals thoughts. Here they are for you.
Maybe the headline was too easy to pick, but it's certainly true. This Destrehan team was destined for a state championship from the outset. Two players who have committed to LSU. Two more being highly recruited. And that's just on offense.
Acadiana certainly was a good team, and well-coached. But the Rams don't have the type of offense to keep up with Destreh
Going into Saturday's 4A final between Bastrop and Shaw, I wondered if the Eagles had peaked too soon. In the first three playoff games, Shaw played near flawless football, smoothly getting past Istrouma, Belle Chasse and Eunice by an average of 20 points.
But in the semifinal against O.P. Walker, the Eagles were stuffed for most of the night, and had to rely on the defense to win the game. Additionally, the Chargers moved the ball at
Today I'll focus on Curtis' 28-13 win over St. James, a victory that head coach J.T. Curtis said was more about pride than revenge, which he didn't want to use in relation to high school sports.
And it was about pride. The Wildcats beat Curtis 16-14 in the penultimate week of the regular season. That game could have gone either way, but the point is, it didn't. St. James came up with the big plays when it needed to, and Curtis left the
Still can't get those championship games out of your head?
Have no fear. HS Gametime will be your place to travel on the interweb this week.
I'll post my thoughts on each game every day this week, starting with 1A today.

Final game of the day folks. Can Destrehan's spread offense outpace Acadiana's veer offense?
Can either defense come up with a stop?

We're back online folks. I'm back to blogging after some technical difficulties. Just think of the minor lapse in live blogs as that indian screen you used to get in the days of black and white TV.
Hope that South Plaquemines - West St. John game got you interested in some football.
This one should be good.

Well, South Plaquemines and West St. John are playing now. There's a nice crowd making some nice noise.
You should join us. But if you can't, read on here for updates.

Westlake and Parkview played a heck of a Class 3A final. The defenses ruled for much of the game, but Parkview's offense came alive late in the third quarter and the fourth quarter to take the win.

Folks, I know you've wanted it, so I'm going to give it to you: Live updates from the Superdome of every game in the LHSAA state finals.
And we'll start with a 5 p.m. rematch between St. James and Curtis. Following that, I'll pick up on the Class 3A game at about halftime, once I'm finished writing the St. James-Curtis game story.

For the past few weeks, Laury Dupont has asked himself one question and it never has anything to do with West St. John or the Rams' opponent that week.
Dupont, a 23rd-year head coach, is set to retire Saturday afternoon following West St. John's Class 1A finals appearance against South Plaquemines.
With the game starting at 1 p.m., Dupont’s on-field duties as a head coach should be finished by 3:30 p.m.

Okay, here goes, a fearless forecast. Four of the five final contests involve area teams covered by HSGameTime.com this year.
I've got some thoughts on the semifinals. Want to hear them, or, in this case, read them?
Ok. Here you go.
*Why didn't Evangel adapt and change and adjust in-game? I don't doubt that Curtis would have won anyway. But when Kenny Cain took off for a 64-yard touchdown on his first touch of the game because there was no secondary help, there should have been a change.
