Cox's Monroe knocking no one's socks off, and links
Sorry for the delay in posting these. I'm working the night shift tonight and got in a little late. But I know you've been checking in religiously, waiting for the all-important links to be posted.
Anyway, happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here is one of my favorite quotes from him:
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
So, maybe you've heard this: The LHSAA is trying to reconfigure the way it handles football classes and the postseason. I'll have more on this later, but the Alexandria paper has a story that dives into the topic and ask local coaches what they think. / The Alexandria Town Talk LHSAA story
The Advocate in Baton Rouge has updated its Super Dozen list for football players, and half the players are from the New Orleans area. The list tells us a little bit about them and where they're committed to, if they're committed. There's also a second dozen list. / The BR Advocate Super Dozen ... The BR Advocate Second Dozen
The Shreveport Times put together a local prep notebook for today's paper, and to me, the most interesting note is actually the final note. It seems the LHSAA decided it was wrong in making a school forfeit some games. Wait, an agency in charge of something admits it was wrong? Couldn't be. / The story from Shreveport
Greg Monroe continues to get national press coverage. This time, the Washington Times profiled the Helen Cox youngster. Let's just those folks who the paper talked with weren't super impressed. / Story from the Washington Times
Speaking of Monroe, Cox finished fifth in a tournament in Missouri this weekend. / results here
