Ramsey Basketball Power Ratings (Jan. 14, 2008)

Interesting, to me, is how much difference there is in the top two in Class 4A boys as compared to the rest of the classification. Helen Cox, despite losing out of state, maintains a huge lead on No. 2 Peabody.

This is where some people are going to have problems with the new ratings system when it comes on line to decide playoffs next season. Unless, of course, the formula gets changed. But as of now, out of state games don't count. So, in the eyes of the ratings formula, Helen Cox is undefeated despite losing six games out of state.

I've got to think that enough coaches will put up a stink over that that the formula will change by next season.
