Hey there folks. Welcome to my long awaited return to HSGametime blogging. OK, maybe it's not long awaited.

I apologize for the lack of links, stories, etc. etc. etc. It has been a busy time in the office, and I've been helping out news side and in the office.

Class 4A Boys Final: Monroe leads Cox to 4A state title

Cox defeated O Perry Walker 75-51 as Greg Monroe finishes his high school career with a 27-point perfomance.


End 3rd Quarter
Greg Monroe had 14 third-quarter points as the Cougars extended a two-point halftime lead.

Class 1A Boys Basketball Final: Country Day falls 48-39 in 1A finals; final thoughts

Final thoughts:
Looking through the boxscore, Eddie Ludwig took 15 free throws. Country Day had only 16. What does that tell you? The Cajuns were relying on Ludwig to get things done, and when he picked up his third foul midway through the second quarter, things changed.

The Cajuns didn't shoot very well, hitting only 14 shots all game. You're not going to win too many games shooting 30 percent from the field.

METAIRIE - It's not that Eddie Ludwig was tired of hearing all about Greg Monroe and Kourtney Roberson and any number of other players.

Far from it, in fact, as hearing people talk about everyone else only provided fuel to the Country Day junior forward.

So, Monday night, when the No. 3-seeded Cajuns played No. 2 Arcadia and Roberson, there was something to prove.

Monroe's 4A semis sends shockwaves through state

If you weren't there to see Greg Monroe's dominating fourth quarter performance in Monday's 62-59 semifinal win over Carroll, then you're in luck. Not only can you read hsgametime.com's story about the game, but Lafayette had it covered.
