Shaw on a baseball roll, but who plays the best football?
OK, so the headline might be a little confusing. Stay with me. Hear me out.
Shaw's baseball team has won nine out of its past 10 games and is now battling for first in 8-4A. Earlier this week, the team picked up its second straight win against a hot Vandebilt team.
Not too long ago, shaw was sitting at 11-12-1 and wondering what to do. Now the Eagles are 20-13-1 and right in the thick of things.

Up in Mansfield, Chris Davenport is becoming the next big thing in football recruiting. Still a junior until the end of this school year, he's already receiving looks wide and far from around the country.
Rivals and Scout both rank him as one of the top recruits in the class of 2009. And yes, LSU is high on his list.

And finally, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution posted a story earlier this week about what state had the best high school football. Louisiana was on it, but not high. That is, not high until you look at NFL players per capita. Then Louisiana is second.
Not too bad.
But here's my question to you. Where does Louisiana prep football rate in the Southeast and why?

Of course not...look at Texas. The high school students in Texas who play football are able to actually read and write when they graduate.
That's the most important thing, isn't it?
