Thieves strike Evangel High

Evangel has a proud tradition of athletic excellence over the years. At least one group found a way to at least try to keep Evangel down this postseason.

OK, so maybe it wasn't Evangel's opponent in the opening round of the softball playoffs. Regardless of who it was, someone stole all of Evangel's bats.

(Continued)

While I am making some light of the topic, it's honestly not funny to a lot of people. The cost of replacing the bats is several thousand dollars and the bats were all only about a year old.

John Curtis won the 2A softball championship last year against Menard. Guess what? The two teams will meet again in the postseason. Only this time, it'll happen in the first round.

--------

Sticking with softball, as this seems to be the softball blog, four District 7-5A schools made the softball playoffs. That's a fairly strong district.

And we're still talking about raising the minimum GPA apparently. The Houma Courier went further than just writing a story. In fact, the paper wrote an editorial, and, like me, it came down on the side of raising the GPA. Let's stop selling kids short.

What do you think? Is a 1.5 GPA high enough? Or should we bump it up to a 2.0?
