When all-district votes get it wrong
Coaches have a lot on their mind. I get that. But I'm going to have to agree with Chris Quebedeaux of the Crowley Post-Signal.
Notre Dame's Ali Lucas got shafted. And pretty big-time. She helped her team to a second-place finish in district and also aided in Notre Dame's win over district champion Northwest, the only district loss for Northwest.
Lucas averaged nearly 20 points and hit on average 4-of-5 foul shots during the district play. She didn't make first-team all-district

OK, I know you're looking for bowling information, so here you go. The state championships get underway this week in Lafayette. No New Orleans teams made it. But do you think the Lafayette schools have an advantage over the Baton Rouge schools. You know, a home-lane advantage? Kent Lowe of The Advocate thinks it was wise for Denham Springs to bowl in Lafayette earlier in the year.

Ponchatoula continued its tear through the baseball season with a thrashing of Hammond during the weekend. You know, this Ponchatoula squad might be for real.

Over in West Ouachita, the fine folks are witnessing greatness from a rising star, junior pitcher Samantha Hamby. How good is she? As a sophomore, she went 20-8 with a .39 ERA. That's pretty fantastic. According to Tabby Soignier of the Monroe News-Star, she might be having a better junior season.

Finally, to my go-to paper for interesting topics, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The South's leading paper put together an interesting poll - the state's greatest all-time dynasties.
It got me thinking:
1) What are Louisiana's top 10 dynasties of all-time?
2) How would Louisiana's dynasties hold up against Georgia's?
