St. Martin's, Northlake get ready for 1A semifinals
St. Martin's and Northlake Christian won't be playing each other today in the Class 1A semifinals. But if both win, the New Orleans area is assured of a champion in baseball. (Continued...)
It won't be easy. Northlake plays Mangham in the nightcap following Ouachita Christian against St. Martin's.
Northlake is in its third straight semifinal. But in the previous two trips, it has come away with a loss. It'll try to halt that streak tonight at 7.
As for St. Martin's, the Saints will have to go against OC's No. 1 pitcher , a bold move by the head coach in attempt to reach the finals.
Jesuit and Mandeville have reached the quarterfinals of the 5A playoffs, Shaw is in the semis of the 4A tournament, St. Charles plays in the 3A semis and that's it for local schools in baseball.
