Top 12 "Now" La football programs
With the school year ending, we've come upon the end of spring practice for most programs.
And that can mean only one thing: It's time to talk football. Right? (Continued...)
Heading into summer workouts, coaches and players are trying to line themselves up to be the next big thing. You know, a team like Bastrop or Acadiana, both of which have reached the finals for three consecutive seasons.
So, who are the now teams? Which are the programs that make other schools cringe when they come on the schedule? Which programs do you want to emulate?
Here are my Top 12 programs.
1. Curtis
2. Bastrop
3. Acadiana
4. Shaw
5. Evangel
6. West Monroe
7. St. James
8. Notre Dame
9. Lutcher
10. Rummel
11. Catholic-BR
12. South Plaquemines
Now it's your turn. Where am I wrong? Who did I leave off? Who would you leave off of my list?

how can you forget about slidell who has been in the playoffs 7 years in a row and who has a recent past of being ranked top 50 in the nation
i Think rummel shuld 6th or 5th cus last yer they wer a yung team now they are more expericenced they will have a good season
don't forget about john ehret who unlike john curtis always have an easy football schedule hope they are put in a stronger football schedule this year
How can you leave out Destrehan. They won the state championship. Besides, they have the best offensive coordinator around.
What???? Where is Destrehan! Did you have a brainfart.
how can you have Rummel and Catholic listed as "top" in the state when neither has ever won state?
replace them with..... Redemptorist or Parkview.
Once again, the pundits have dropped the ball on an annual top ten list. Sure, go with the 'sexy' picks to appease your audience. Salmen High School belongs on your list and you are too afraid to admit it. The Spartans should be like John Curtis when it comes to these lists. No matter what the team looks like this year, its pedigree should be enough to keep the team on the list!
How can you leave off Hahnville and Destrehan and East St. John
Not sure how you got your list together. Are you new to Louisiana??
Programs=very good to great over a certain number of years--Bastrop has been successful for the past 3 or 4.
Why didn't the defending state champion Destrehan not get a nomination? Another team that will likely fly under the radar will be Dutchtown High School in Ascension Parish.
Curtis is so overated, I think you forgot about St.Augustine Purple Knights or Mc35! c'mon man tightened up.
THanks for giving props to the South Plaquemines Hurricanes. They are very deserving and will prove that again this year.
where is destrehan and hahnville are you from around these parts not very smart about high school football
You most certainly can't be getting paid to publish such ridiculous opinions...can you?
What are you thinking !!!!!! Destrehan has been in the playoffs for the Past few years and won State 5A title... Once a Fighting Wildcat they should at least be #2 maybe #3!!!
Did you just fall off a Peach Truck??? How can you not have Hahnville and Destrehan? Hahnville
has State Championships from 1949, 1968, 1972, 1992, 1994, and 2003. All in the highest classification? Rummel and BR-Catholic??? When was there last State Championship?????
Everybody knows Curtis "buys" players.
They shouldn't even be in the list.
AMITE HIGH WARRIORS,How can you not put them on your list. We have beat St. Jame& Notre Dame many times.
