No love for the locals nationally
Certainly its tough to win back-to-back state titles.
Though Bastrop has done it two straight years, and three straight if you include the forfeited 2005 year, it's not easy in general.
Why, however, are no state teams other than Bastrop getting love nationally?

Well, Bastrop is getting love from MaxPreps.com, a national high school Web site that I use on a regular basis to inform y'all.
But Bastrop is the only school in Louisiana getting love from the nation, coming in ranked No. 7 in MaxPreps' early summer top 25 poll.
What about Destrehan? Sure the Wildcats lost a lot on offense, but the defense boasts two nationally-rated recruits in DT Darrington Sentimore and LB Rufus Porter. You'd think they'd at least get some respect, especially after going 15-0 and winning the state championship.
What do you think?
