Week 5 pick 'em: Kincaid, Planchet, sports falter; Week 5 lines provided
The start are back in alignment after one week of hsgametime.com pick 'em. We lost James and Marcus - where did thou goeth? - but I'm back on top.
WWL-TV Sports Reporter Juan Kincaid, after a stellar 8-2 start, finished at .500 this week, while WWL-TV web guru Tom Planchet also fell after an 8-2 beginning. He was 6-4 this past week.
But the biggest fall from grace has to be the sport department. After a fast 9-1 start, it went 6-4 in Week 2.
Soccer Freak hilariously picked the Bastrop winner and that put him at 8-2 for the week while first-timer Sports Nuggets finished 7-3.

Ehret at Destrehan
Here are some lines provided by Friend of HSGametime who would like go by the title:
"The Sure Thing"
Cohen 6 over McMain. Tough loss to Country Day will hang over the Mustangs for another week.
St. Charles 14 over West St. John. The Rams have not scored in two games, and it won't get any easier against the Comets.
West Jeff 7 over McDonogh 35. The Bucs look good with a new coach calling the shots.
Cox 8 over Karr. Cox impressive win over South Plaquemines shows the Cougars will be playing into November.
East St. John 17 over Carencro. Where have you gone Kevin Faulk, Damien James? The Bears are way past their glory days.
Brother Martin 14 over Denham Springs. Dalton Hilliard Jr. can't be stopped!
Curtis 13 over North Miami Beach. 6A power in Florida will regret this road trip.
Jesuit 7 over Holy Cross. Big overtime win against Catholic has the Blue Jays flying high.
Destrehan 7 over Destrehan. One of Billy North's best squads, but Destrehan is still the King of 5A for now.

Game of the Week breakdown
This one could live up to the billing of a No. 3 team hosting a No. 4 team.
Destrehan is on an 18-game winning streak, but most of the skill players who carried the Wildcats to the 5A championship have gone off to college.
Ehret is playing great ball after returning most everyone from a team that went to the 5A semifinals a year ago.
Destrehan does return a healthy portion of its offensive and defensive lines. And as we all know, games between two teams are most often won in the trenches.
Ehret has a salty defense and DeAnte Triplett on its side. Triplett is one of the metro areas top running backs. But he's joined by quarterback Rico Jones and receiver Craig Johnson (who leads the metro area in receptions) to form a formidable trio that's tough to stop.
So, what gives?
This is the toughest one I've had to pick yet, but until someone beats Destrehan, they own any tiebreaker in my mind when it comes down to it. The Wildcats host this one and that could be the difference. Friday night in St. Chuck Parish is always tough. Destrehan 17-14.

Destrehan over Ehret, 31-28
Cohen LOSES TO McMain @ Pan Am
St. Charles LOSES TO West St. John
McDonogh 35 LOSES TO West Jeff @ Memtsas
Cox SMOKES Karr @ Behrman
Carencro LOSES TO East St. John
Brother Martin OVER Denham Springs
North Miami Beach (Fla.) LOSES TO Curtis @
Nicholls State
Jesuit OVER Holy Cross @ Yenni (Sat.)
Ehret LOSES TO Destrehan 23-14
In one of the most lopsided pre-game coinflips of all time Ehret calls "heads" and the coin lands on tails. Ehret can do nothing while the Wildcats choose to "defer" until the second half.
Destrehan capitalizes on Ehret's mistake and wins the game in what would go down in prep-lore as the "Flip Heard 'Round the Stadium."
