Former Curtis stars win Player of the Week Awards in college
Two former John Curtis football stars received big awards for their play in college this past weekend.
Joe McKnight, class of 2007 was named the Pac-10 conference's offensive player of the week. "McKnight, a junior from River Ridge, La., played a key role in USC's 18-15 road win at No. 8-ranked Ohio State. McKnight had 105 all-purpose yards as he rushed for 60 yards and added 45 yards on two receptions. On USC's dramatic 86-yard fourth-quarter scoring drive to win the game, McKnight accounted for 53 yards with 32 yards rushing and 21 receiving yards, plus a two-point conversion catch after the score." http://www.pac-10.org/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091409aai.html
Brandin Jordan, class of 2005 was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Defensive player of the week. "Brandin Jordan led the Southern Illinois Saluki defense in a 31-28 loss to Football Subdivision School Marshall with a game-high 12 tackles, one sack and another game-high two tackles for a loss. He had a hand in forcing both of Marshall's turnovers.
