State Playoffs: Quarterfinals preview

Grant vs. Central Catholic
This is without a doubt in my mind, the best game of the weekend. If you like good old fashion shootouts, look no further. Grant has averaged 42 points in the past four games, Central Catholic, 38.
The Rams have one of the state's best QB-receiver combos in Nick Green and Jordan Freelander.
But the Generals have two things on their side, momentum, and Andre Broadous. Grant hasn't lost since September, and I don't think that will end this week.
Prediction: Grant 35 Central Catholic 30

Lincoln @ West Salem
Halfway through the season, you would have never guessed that Lincoln would still be alive at this point in the playoffs. The Cardinals were 2-3, and having a hard time moving the ball. Since then Lincoln has won 4 of their last 6, and seem to be hitting their stride. They have a big playmaker in Jordan Polk, and quarterback Jason Hobby is starting to look comfortable in the pocket.
West Salem on the other hand, has to be considered a true contender for the state title. The Titans haven't lost since week one, and that was by one point to Lake Oswego. And the Titans do it on defense. Four times this year, they've held their opponents scoreless.
The won't keep Lincoln out of the endzone, but they will keep them from moving on.
Prediction: West Salem 35 Lincoln 21

Tualatin @ Westview
Westview has had an impressive season, and now sits at 10-1, going into Friday's home game against Tualatin. But the Wildcats are not overly intimidating, and it may be due to the fact that they haven't fared well in big games. Last year, an rpreviously undefeated Westview team lost to Jesuit in the regular season, then lost to Lake Oswego in the secind round of the playoffs. This year, they lost to Jesuit it again. But can they pull out the big game this time around, and advance to the semifinals?
Only if they can cool down a hot Tualatin team, that has scored at least 42 points in their past two games.
I give the edge to the home team in a close one.
Prediction: Westview 31 Tualatin 28

Sheldon @ Lake Oswego
To me this is the only gimmie of the weekend. I won't go as far as to say, "hand the Lakers the title right now," but it's getting close. Lake Oswego is so well balanced, they always score plenty of points, and don't give them up on the other side of the ball.
This week will be no different, as the Lakers will send Sheldon on a long bus ride back to Eugene.
Prediction: Lake Oswego 28 Sheldon 14
