Week Nine Preview
Central Catholic @ Centennial
The Mount Hood Conference title is on the line Friday, as Centennial (7-2) plays host to Central Catholic (6-3). The winner will be the number one seed heading into the first round of the playoffs.
Early in the season, the Eagles looked like they were going to sweep through the conference without a loss, but they stumbled two weeks ago at David Douglas.
The Rams meantime, have won five of their last six, and have tons of playoffs experience. This is like a playoff game, and the Eagles will have their hands full.
Prediction: Central Catholic 31 Centennial 28
Glencoe @ Sherwood
Two of the top teams in 5A square off for bragging rights in the Northwest Oregon League.
Third ranked Sherwood is coming off a big win over Wilsonville, and is poised to take one of the top seeds entering the playoffs.
Glencoe has one of the state's most explosive offenses. They've won six straight games, scoring more than 48 points four times in that stretch.
Sherwood has the home field advantage, and plenty of big game experience, but the Bowman could have trouble keeping Glencoe out of the end zone.
Prediction: Glencoe 38 Sherwood 31
Lake Oswego @ Lakeridge
This is a home game for the Pacers, in the cozy confines of Lake Oswego's campus. That's another issue all together.
You'd like to think that Lakeridge could muster up a big upset win over their cross-town rival. But Lake Oswego is powerhouse, primed to make a run for the state title.
Prediction: Lake Oswego 48 Lakeridge 20
