Championship game preview

What an improbable run for the Tualatin Timberwolves. Not many teams can rebound from a 2-2 start, make the playoffs, then win four straight post-season games.
And even though they finished the regular season winning four of their last five games, no one was really sure how good they were. After all, Tualatin only beat one Pacific League team with a winning record, a 10-6 sleeper over Tigard.
But the Timberwolves got hot and the right time, Craig Hastin got his players to believe they could win, and they haven't looked back.
Of course, a little luck can go a long way too. In last Friday's semifinal game, West Salem fumbled the ball deep in their own territory. Tualatin recovered in the end zone, completing a 13 point, second half comeback win.
Its going to take both confidence and luck this Saturday when Tualatin faces Sheldon in the 6A Championship game in Corvallis. Sheldon has now won 11 straight, and in that stretch is averaging more than 40 points a game.
The player behind most of those points, running back Zach Todd. The Senior had four touchdowns in Sheldon's blowout win over Grant. Find a way to stop him, and you have a chance.
If the Timberwolves get behind early this week, they don't have a chance. Sheldon can put points on the board in a hurry, and its going to take Tualatin's best effort of the season to pull off the upset.
Prediction: Sheldon 35 Tualatin 24
