Shoni Schimmel is FOR REAL...

If you didn't get the chance this March to see Hermiston's flashy point guard Shoni Schimmel...it may be worth the drive to Eastern Oregon in the next couple of years.
She's one of the most electrifying girl basketball players you'll will find. It's like she has the basketball on a string at times. Maybe that's why her head coach often compares her game to that of the late, NBA great Pete Maravich. I got to see Schimmel play for about 1.5 quarters this past Wednesday...and the one word that kept popping up was "dazzling". Behind the back passes from halfcourt...drop off passes over her shoulder...very long range 3's. Maybe that's why 4 different Pac-10 coaches were in attendance that day. And to think she's only a sophomore?? Sheeesh...basketball is her ticket to any college in this country! Keep it up Shoni...we'll be watching!
