Markell Earns All-American Honorable Mention

Recent Portsmouth Abbey graduate Perry Markell was named All-American Honorable Mention by the U.S. Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The honor caps off a great high school career for the Portsmouth teen, who was also named to the All-State first team for the second straight year after guiding the Ravens to a perfect 17-0 record and their second consecutive SENE Division I Girls Lacrosse Championship this spring.

Markell, who also played soccer for The Abbey, scored 46 goals and recorded 17 assists in her final season bringing her career totals to 153 goals and 53 assists.

She joins Barrington junior midfielder Julie Ruggieri, who was named to the All-America first team.

Markell will continue her lacrosse career at Elmira College this fall.
