Cox Sports Television to air Division I Boys' Hockey final

Cox Sports Television releases its plans to televise the RIIL hockey playoffs:

Cox Sports Television (Cox Channel 3) will air exclusive coverage of the upcoming Division I Boys’ Hockey Championship series from Providence College’s Schneider Arena.

Defending state champion Bishop Hendricken will take on Mount St. Charles in the best-of-three Division I Championship series beginning on Friday, March 23. The series continues with Game 2 on Saturday, March 24. If a third and deciding game is necessary, it will be held on Monday, March 26. All games will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Coverage of the Division I Championship series will air tape delayed on CST. The opening game of the series will air on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The second game of the series will be broadcast immediately after the conclusion of Game 1. A third game, if necessary, would air on Cox Sports TV on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m.

The entire series will also be available for a limited time on Cox Local OnDEMAND (Cox Channel 1).

“Showcasing these elite hockey teams in this exciting championship series emphasizes our commitment to offering compelling local sports to our customers,” said Paul Cronin, vice president and region manager, Cox Communications New England. “This is a great opportunity for Rhode Island high school hockey fans to catch all the action exclusively on Cox Sports.”

As part of CST’s coverage of the Division I Hockey Championship Series, four lucky fans who attend the Division I Boys’ Hockey Championships on Saturday, March 24, will have the chance to take one shot on goal from the full length of the ice. Four fans will be chosen randomly at Saturday’s night’s Division I game at Schneider Arena.

The contestant who scores a goal will win a year of Cox cable service.

CST Hot Shot contestants will be able to view their performance at www.cox-sports.com beginning March 26.
