Olney, Patricio tabbed Varsity Zone Players of the Game

West Warwick, RI – Cox Sports (Cox channel 3) has announced that Wheeler’s Sierra Olney has been named the Sleepy’s/Varsity Zone Player of the Game for her performance in Wednesday’s 7-0 win over Pilgrim in a Rhode Island Interscholastic field hockey game. Olney, a senior from Pawtucket, scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Wheeler to victory.
Olney joins Sarah Patricio, who was selected the Sleepy’s/Varsity Zone Player of the Game from Pilgrim. Patricio, a co-caption, was recognized for her sportsmanship.
The Wheeler vs. Pilgrim field hockey game [aired on] Varsity Zone on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. on Cox Sports.
Varsity Zone features coverage of a variety of Rhode Island high school athletics. The 2007 fall series include coverage of Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division I Championships in boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer and football. Varsity Zone will also air a special edition on Thanksgiving featuring a live broadcast of the East Providence versus La Salle football game.
