Barrington captures sixth state golf title in seven years

Edging Bishop Hendricken by one stroke on the first playoff hole, Barrington captured its sixth R.I. Interscholastic League Golf State Team Championship in seven years, its 20th overall, today at Cranston Country Club.
Tied at 306 through 18 holes, all six Barrington golfers and all six Hendricken golfers returned to the 540-yard, par-5 first hole, with the top four scores from each team determining the winner. Barrington finished with a score of 21, as the Eagles’ Alex Fay, Peter Costa, Jared Adams each parred the hole, while Jacob DiMario, Ed Hjerpe and Jeffrey Ray each made a 6.
