We came into the meet expecting that kind of performance out of them, and knew they could deliver.” Not all athletes can deliver under those expectations but these two captains train hard and are well focused.”

Coach E- “ All in all it was a great day for the kids and the team. EGHS track has come all the back from being the laughing stock of RI track and field, 8 years ago. It’s been a great journey! We knew this Senior class of 08, was special back in 2004 when they were freshmen. We told them in four years we want to be competing for the state championship, because we could see their potential and this past year they have delivered!! Cross country State champions, Indoor Class C State Champions and State Champs Runner-up, now Class D State champs outdoor and the State meet still ahead of them.
Coach E- “Class D state champs is very impressive! We had to top two of the finest track programs in the state, Rogers HS and Classical HS. Those two programs have over 30 championships between them. I was very proud of the way our kids competed today. They came ready to do a job and they finished it!!”
