Jusme twins set pair of state marks at Central Division Championships

Courtesy of Bob Leddy:

A pair of state girls’ track records were claimed on Wednesday by sisters Didi and Mickey Jusme, of Classical, at the Central Division Championships. Didi Jusme broke a 23-year-old state mark in winning the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in a hand-held time of 44.6 seconds, eclipsing the hand-held 44.8 set by Middletown’s Cindy Buratti in 1985. In the triple jump, meanwhile, Mickey Jusme leaped a combined winning distance of 38 feet, 9 inches (11.81 meters, in minus wind), thus shattering her own Rhode Island record of 37 feet (11.27).
