Rhode Islanders take top three spots at Ocean State Invitational

Rhode Island runners comprised the top three finishes at the New Balance/Ocean State Cross Country Invitational Boys' Championship race, held in rainy conditions Saturday at Goddard Park, Warwick. Westerly senior Andrew Springer won the 3.1-mile event in 15 minutes, 55.6 seconds. East Greenwich's Nick Ross was second in 15:57, and Avenger teammate Mark Feigen placed third in 15:58. In the girls' Championship race, Coventry senior Jenna Riley was the top Rhode Islander, placing fourth in 18:53.
