Accused Garfield players take field

Three Garfield players were allowed to play last night at Pop Keeney Stadium, despite the fact they are facing criminal charges. Since the crimes occured off-campus, the school let the parents decide if the teenagers should be allowed to play. Police accuse one teen of assaulting a man and all three for attempting to rob him. Two days later, the same teens allegedly robbed and assaulted again. Should the parents have allowed these guys to suit up? Here are two articles about the matter, from the Times and PI. Garfield's record? 1-7.

Should these guys be allowed to play? Heck no! The coach should take a stand and boot them from the team. Are they innocent until proven guilty? Sure, but even being accused of this should be grounds for suspension.

No wonder they are 1-7. No damn integrity or ethics...The coach could have benched them and he should have. I blame the kids, the parents, the coaching staff and the school district. They will never amount to anything.
